    OBAAAA-chan!

I'm glad you haven't included the classic 10k years old dragon lolis as old ladies characters. Just the awesome grey haired grannies

Old ladies huh? Next time, why don't you do little boys and little girls in the future such as Chris from the King of Fighters series, Lieselotte Achenbach from Arcana Heart, and even Carl Clover from Blazblue?

A shame Street Fighter hasn't featured an old lady yet

Damn, I wish you picked Chiyo from Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 or Gekitou Ninja Taisen Special.

Our Discord is still active and plays a variety of games from the series. The games have some busted elements with many players sticking to a Japan only GameCube game (Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4) which is not clear either like many games before patches but you'd get some competitive related answers if you ever ask about one of these characters: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naruto:_Clash_of_Ninja#Playable_characters

Seems other places have tier lists which have her at mid though I need to play and check for context. I recall her being interesting as she was a pure zoner, all attacks were with her puppets and puppet users tend to be strong in the series though I imagine it peaked on the GameCube.

No other characters immediately come to mind to add, but I'll work on finding some more.

I find it interesting how there are like no old ladies that are playable in any of the popular front line fighting games like street fighter, tekken, DOA, etc…

So as I thought, the Power Instinct franchise are the only traditional fighters that have old ladies.

Old ladies dont became waifus and can't sell sexy costumes, so you can forget it in mainstream FGs

The thing is, although she isn’t that old (like elderly age), the biggest example I can come up with is Taki from “SoulCalibur”, especially in regards to how she was replaced in SC5 by her apprentice, Natsu. The game takes place 17 years after the events of SC2-4, meaning Taki would’ve been 46 if she had returned. But for a weird Japanese-related reason (or real-life reason, really), Namco decided she’s “too old” to be playable anymore and that’s why she was replaced. Most of the females in the game are either in their late-teens or in their 20s (for marriageable age), or they just hand-wave their age by saying that the cursed power of Soul Edge (known as “Malfestation”) slowed their aging, meaning characters like Ivy, Maxi, and Tira are still the same as we last saw them with very little difference. But here’s the thing, if they wanted to keep Taki looking attractive without looking too old, why couldn’t they go for the “silver vixen” style, it works for characters like Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher) or Dante (Devil May Cry) or Lee Chaolan (Tekken). She could silver hair, look a bit aging, but still be attractive, similar to Sindel, but as the saying goes, “What could have been…”

Honestly, it’s about time for fighting games to explore other female archetypes than just looking young (like teen young) and pretty, without going into the more exaggerated levels like Power Instinct did for its old women. (Loosely) Realistic levels, but without taking away from the badass. If Overwatch, Mortal Kombat, and Bloody Roar can do that for older-looking women and mothers in their 40s, why can’t most other games?

If you want to play that Yu-Yu Hakusho game for Megadrive online with friends, use Parsec and an emulator.
